Job Description
Provides instruction to 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students enrolled in the Cosmetology Program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide instruction and course management at the high school level by demonstrating a knowledge of hair color, hair relaxers, hair cutting, makeup, facials, waxing, thermal styling, manicuring, equipment maintenance, and resource management.
- Possess knowledge of current industry standards, operations, and student certifications.
- Demonstrates long range planning and knowledge of the student area.
- Completes daily written lesson plans which fulfill learning objectives consistent with Virginia's CTE Resource Center curricula.
- Plans for individual student differences.
- Works to achieve division/school/department objectives.
- Utilizes a variety of teaching methods.
- Utilizes various forms of technology to assist in the delivery of instruction.
- Utilizes various forms of technology to assist in the delivery of instruction.
- Provides opportunities for student responses and gives appropriate feedback to students.
- Utilizes effective motivational strategies.
- Paces instruction to provide opportunities for student success.
- Delivers curriculum and instruction in accordance with school division guidelines.

Qualifications:
Candidate must possess or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license in Cosmetology or possess a certificate as a Certified Cosmetology Instructor for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
This position is for the 2025-26 School Year.
