We can all play a part in increasing mental health awareness and decreasing the stigma. World Mental Health Day is an opportunity for us to come together collectively to envision a world in which mental health is valued, promoted, and protected; where everyone has an equal opportunity to enjoy mental health and exercise their human rights; and where everyone can access the mental health care they need.
Our speakers will discuss trauma and sexual abuse, and substance use – the treatment and stigma. Panel discussion to follow, moderated by Nedra Moncrief-Craig, BS, MBA, PhD, LNHA, ALA, LBSW, CDP, HACP, CMDCP, Director, Behavioral Health Services, Sentara Healthcare; Andrew Lloyd, PhD, Curriculum Leader, World Languages and English Language Learners, Hampton City Schools will join the panel discussion.
