The Holiday Band blends soul, blues, funk, and Carolina Beach music. They offer something for everyone!
The Holiday Band has received several awards including a CAMMY for best album. They have recorded eight albums on Ripete Records, and the Rhythm & Beach Top 40 Countdown recently awarded The Holiday Band for having the most songs to chart in the past 10 years!
Doug Neese is the rock solid bass player as well as lead vocalist. Doug has performed his whole life including an appearance with legend Bob Hope on the Atlantic City Boardwalk.
Mike Neese is a lead vocalist and plays guitar. His version of "After The Lovin'" stayed on the R&B chart for 62 weeks.
Bob Martin was taught to play sax by his father in Fullerton, CA. He was performing professionally by 1972 with an eleven piece show band from LA called, "XS Baggage." He toured the US and Canada for seven years. While living in Santa Fe, NM, he recorded a Fusion album with a jazz band called, "Touch". Bob is no stranger to big name acts such as BB King and Wilson Pickett. As a freelance musician, he has played in concert with the Coasters, the Drifters, Little Anthony, Lou Christy, BJ Thomas, and Dan Fogelberg. Whether you hear Bob playing those sweet jazz-influenced melodies or his, sometimes, blistering solos, you will come to find a truly seasoned musician with his choice of stage instruments being Alto, Tenor and Baritone saxes!
Mike Taylor is a lead vocalist, plays guitar, keyboards and writes much of The Holiday Band's music. In 2003, Mike penned and sang "I'm Man Enough" which stayed #1 on the R&B charts for 22 weeks, and went on to win "Song of The Year" at the 2003 Carolina Beach Music Awards Show. Mike has a great understanding of how to lead an audience to make everyone have a great time.
Duane Neese comes to the Holiday Band from The Castaways Band of Durham, NC. Not only is he a terrific lead vocalist, but a seasoned drummer and trombone player. Duane lends another dimension of sound as he has spent much of his past performing in country bands, and even spent some some time in Nashville, TN.
Bill Ward is the drummer, and after spending several years in California, Bill returned home and is a large part of the Holiday Rhythm section groove.
