THE BASICS OF DRAWING COURSE DESCRIPTION
Drawing is the process of creating an image on a surface using various tools and techniques. Students will explore simple perspective, accurate proportion, composition, and tonal values, using pencil, charcoal, and other drawing media to create still-life studies and landscapes.
Students learn how to translate what they see into two-dimensional images using key concepts: measurement, proportion, value rendering, and basic perspective.
Weather permitting: Develop observational and drawing skills while sketching on location outside. Gain the basic tools necessary for the practical use of sketchbooks while learning field study methods.
