Citizens who are or may be interested in running for public office or serving on a commission or committee are encouraged to attend an upcoming workshop on running for office and public service. On Tuesday, May 16, 5:30 pm, in the Innovation Center of the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center, the Chamber will host a workshop entitled, “Politics & Governing 101: Running for Office and Other Public Service.” The free workshop is open to those currently in office, incumbents running for office, and any Halifax County resident interested in running for office or getting involved in local government.
